Those of you who have been members for awhile know that the Fall Rendezvous sells out quickly. Because of this, in an effort to maximize available space for boat slips and lodge rooms, we have a specific registration process in place for this event that we don't follow anywhere else.

Please be sure to read over the registration information on the event page so you are prepared and know how and when to register.

We will be taking registrations beginning on Monday, July 22, for those attendees who plan to come by boat and will need a slip at the marina. Approximately 50 slips are available for our event and they will go quickly.  Be prepared to register as soon as you can after registration opens at noon eastern.

For everyone else, registration will open on Thursday, July 25 at noon eastern. You will not be able to contact the facility directly to make room reservations or reserve a slip until after you have registered for the event.

Joe Wheeler State Park is a Looper Favorite

Joe Wheeler is a beautiful and serene state park located in Rogersville, Alabama. Located on the shores of Wheeler Lake, the 2,550-acre resort park is quite removed from the hustle and bustle of city life. Expect to see mature trees (maybe even in the midst of fall color), deer and even white pelicans have been known to spend time on the far shore.

The Fall Rendezvous includes more than 20 seminars split into two tracks. The Route Briefing track includes more than 12 hours of seminars covering the southern portion of the Great Loop Route, from the Tenn-Tom to Norfolk, Virginia.  Speakers will lead you through these waterways, pointing out favorite marinas, anchorages, things to see and do, and navigational information along the way.

The second track is our Looping 101 track.  This encompasses more general Looping information, such as finding the perfect Great Loop boat, weather, marine electronics, and more.  Attendees will be polled about a week after registration opens on topics of interest to them for the Looping 101 track.  The top vote-getters will be used to create the Looping 101 track.

We will again offer a NASBLA-approved boating safety class, conducted by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, as an optional add-on course on Sunday, October 20th.  All of the states on the Great Loop route require boating education. This class will cover boat basics and trailering, rules of the road and safe operation, boating laws and required saftey equipment, boating emergencies and water sports.  Some insurance companies offer boat insurance discounts to boaters who successfully complete this course.

We hope to see many of you there!
