HOTEL RESERVATIONS
A room block has been arranged at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott with a group rate of $158/night plus tax and the deadline to reserve a room at the group rate is Wednesday, April 9, 2025, or whenever the room block sells out. We expect high demand for hotel rooms so please don't delay in making your hotel reservation after registering for the Rendezvous. A link to make your reservation will be included in your registration confirmation email. Hotel fees, including parking fees, are in addition to your Rendezvous registration fee and will be paid directly to the Marriott. Self-parking with in/out privileges is $22/day and valet parking is $33/day. Parking is also available off-site at the Main Street Garage.
SLIP RESERVATIONS
To accommodate all of the expected Loopers who will come by boat, Waterside Marina is the "official" Rendezvous marina in Norfolk and Tidewater Yacht Marina and Ocean Yacht Marina across the river in Portsmouth will serve as the overflow marinas.
As of 2/17/25, slips are sold out at Waterside Marina. If you register for the Rendezvous and are coming by boat, you will receive a link to the Waterside Marina slip waitlist in your registration confirmation email. In the meantime, you can make a reservation at one of the overflow marinas listed further below.
Slip Reservation Instructions: You will not be able to book a slip at Waterside Marina until you have processed a paid registration for the Rendezvous, indicating you would like a slip. During the registration process, you will be asked details about your boat. AGLCA will collect that information and forward it to Waterside Marina as paid registrations are processed. The marina staff will then call you to confirm. Please be sure to follow this process to help us ensure registration goes smoothly. Waterside will not accept your slip reservation unless you are on AGLCA's registration list.
Waterside Marina is in the middle of the action at the Waterside District, which features live (and sometimes loud and late) entertainment and several dining choices. It's also a short walk to the meeting facility. We'll be holding Looper Crawls at Waterside Marina. Current rates at Waterside are $2.25/ft. (or $2.75/ft. for beams 20ft. or greater) but Rendezvous attendees will receive a 10% discount on their entire length of stay. Electrical is $7.50/day for 30 amp or $15/day for twin 30 amp or 50 amp. Slip and electrical fees are in addition to your Rendezvous registration fee and will be paid directly to Waterside.
Please ensure you register for the Rendezvous promptly and select Waterside as your marina choice to get your slip preference for the arrival and departure dates of choice. Rendezvous slips usually sell out within a few days of registration opening.
Tidewater Yacht Marina and Ocean Yacht Marina, the overflow facilities, are quieter options in the quaint town of Portsmouth. It is a short walk from those facilities to the North Landing Ferry Stop, and then a short and inexpensive ferry ride to the meeting site. (Construction near the ferry dock stop at Waterside Marina may impact the ferry schedule, though. More details will be provided when available.) Reservations can be made through these Dockwa links (Tidewater Marina and Ocean Yacht Marina) and you can use a code during the online reservation process to receive 10% off dockage fees at either marina. The code will be in your Rendezvous registration confirmation email as well as the Dockwa links. Slip and electrical fees are in addition to your Rendezvous registration fee and will be paid directly to Tidewater or Ocean Yacht. If enough boats are docked at Tidewater and/or Ocean Yacht, Looper Crawls may be held there as well.
