Rendezvous Sessions

The Fall Rendezvous includes more than 20 seminars split into two tracks. The Route Briefing track includes more than 12 hours of seminars covering the southern portion of the Great Loop Route, from the Tenn-Tom to Norfolk, Virginia.  Speakers will lead you through these waterways, pointing out favorite marinas, anchorages, things to see and do, and navigational information along the way.

The second track is our Looping 101 track.  This encompasses more general Looping information, such as finding the perfect Great Loop boat, weather, marine electronics, and more.  Attendees were polled about a week after registration opened on topics of interest to them for the Looping 101 track.  The top vote-getters were used to create the Looping 101 track.

Attendees are free to move between the two tracks at will.  You are not required to pre-register for individual seminars.

Pre-Rendezvous Class

In addition to the full Rendezvous agenda, AGLCA will be offering a NASBLA-approved boating safety class, conducted by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, as an optional add-on course on Sunday, October 20th.  All of the states on the Great Loop route require boating education. This class will cover boat basics and trailering, rules of the road and safe operation, boating laws and required saftey equipment, boating emergencies and water sports.  Some insurance companies offer boat insurance discounts to boaters who successfully complete this course.

The registration fee for this class is in addition to the Rendezvous registration fee.  The registration fee of $20/person includes course materials but does not include any meals.  You will have oppportunity to select this add-on course during the registration process.  On October 20th, class registration opens at noon and the session begins at 12:30 pm, wrapping up around 6:00 pm.  If you plan to attend the class, we suggest you eat lunch prior to attending the class since a meal is not included with registration. The class will be held in the River Room, located inside the Joe Wheeler Lodge.
