Welcome to AGLCA's Virtual Docktails where Loopers can connect on special interest topics! Each Zoom social breakout room will be hosted by a Gold Looper or a representative from AGLCA. The groups are intended to be interactive and fun with no structured agenda! For the March 19th virtual event, the breakout room topics are below. Hosts for each room will be announced soon.
Join this discussion if you're excited to talk ALL things DECL! This breakout room can be for any Loopers who've completed the DECL and want to share tips and memories, or Loopers planning their adventure on the DECL. You can even join this room if you aren't Looping yet, but want to hear more about this popular journey.
Dinghy Docktails
For some reason dinghies are one of the most hotly discussed topics amongst Loopers. Throw out the question, "Do I need a dinghy for the Loop?" and you will get 10 different, passionate opinions.
So join us, if you dare, to discuss your dinghy preferences. For those in favor, we hope you will share some of the favorite ways you use your dinghy and the set-up on your boat. For those opposed, bring your compelling reasons why they're a waste of space. If you're in the planning stage, we think this will be a fruitful conversation that might help you make your own decision!
Ladies of the Loop
Back for a second month in a row by popular demand! Ladies, please join us to connect with other women about the exciting times you've experienced preparing for or cruising the Loop. You never know what will come up in this group...restaurant recommendations, grocery shopping tips, where to get your nails done, how to help with boat maintenance...you name it, and the Ladies of the Loop have discussed it!
If you're not sure you're ready to be a "Lady of the Loop", this group is also for you! It will be a great place to discuss any concerns and get some virtual support from those who've gone before you!
Catamaran Loopers
Our catamaran Loopers may be smaller in number, but they are usually some of our most vocal boat owners. In other words, they LOVE their catamarans. With so many options to choose from, it's always fun to hear the different makes and models of catamarans that travel around the Loop each year.
If you're a Catamaran Looper, this group is for you! We also welcome anyone on the fence about purchasing a catamaran. Or anyone with questions about Looping on this style of boat. This group promises to be full of fun, cat-camaraderie, and wisdom.
AGLCA Member Q&A
Meet some of our newest members (or long-term members with questions!) during this open Q&A facilitated by AGLCA Director Kim Russo. We recommend you check out our website tutorials to get an idea of the membership benefits available to you, and then come with your questions about anything and everything related to AGLCA. Kim will be happy to answer whatever is unclear about what AGLCA offers. We are fortunate to have a full-time staff ready and willing to help as you plan and execute your Great Loop adventure. Use this session to learn more about everything included with your AGLCA membership or ask Kim general questions about the Great Loop.
Upon registering, you will receive the Zoom link for the virtual docktails but you will also be able to find it in "My Events", which can be found under "My Account" on the homepage menu bar of the AGLCA website when you are logged in. Just click "View Booking" by the appropriate event to see the Zoom link.
Registration closes on Wednesday, March 19th at noon eastern.
