 Marina

As of February 14th, Waterside Marina is full.  There are marina options in across the river in Portsmouth with a short ferry ride directly to the Rendezvous seminar location. If you require a slip, please secure one before registering for the Rendezvous.  If you'd like to be added to the waiting list for a slip at Waterside, please email Julie Shea at jshea@greatloop.org

The marina for the AGLCA Spring 2018 Rendezvous is Waterside Marina. You cannot reserve a slip until you've registered for the Rendezvous.  After registration, you’ll receive a confirmation email with a link to request a slip.  AGLCA will give that information to the marina and they'll call you to confirm your slip.  Rates are $1.50 per foot.  Power is $5 for 30 amp, $10 for Twin 30 amp and $15 for 50 amp.

 Hotel/Meeting Space

Hotel rooms for those not coming by boat, and all meals and seminars, are at the Sheraton Norfolk Waterside. You must make your own hotel reservations outside of the AGLCA registration process.  A block of rooms at the group rate of $119 per night (city view) or $139 per night (harbor view) is available.  Reserve your room before April 1st to receive the group rate.

The Sheraton is recently renovated and is located just steps away from Waterside Marina and the revitalized Waterside District.

 Agenda

The agenda includes one track with detailed seminars about the Great Loop route taking you from Norfolk to the Tennessee River, site of our Fall Rendezvous.  Our "Looping 101" track gives general information on various topics with a focus on the Great Loop, such as "Locking Through", "Finding your Perfect Great Loop Boat", "Handling Emergencies Aboard", etc.  The agenda also includes ample social time to get to know other Loopers, and our famous "Looper Crawls" during which you can explore the Looper boats in the marina.

Click here to see the agenda.

 Looper Crawl   White Burgee
 Looper Crawls
What's a Looper Crawl, you might ask?  It's a few hours in the afternoon that many of the Looper boats in the marina will welcome other attendees aboard.  It's part "docktails", part learning about the features you might like on your next boat, part social hour, and ALL fun!
Dine Around/Pub Crawl
The optional Dine Around will take place at the Waterside District on Wednesday, May 2nd, beginning at 6:00 p.m.  Make your reservations at any of the Waterside District restaurants by using the links found here.  Be sure to note on your reservation request that you're part of our group so that you can be seated with other Loopers.  If you prefer one of the causal restaurants in The Market area of Waterside District, no reservation is needed.

The Pub Crawl will include four different local pubs, all within walking distance of Waterside Marina and the Sheraton, and all in close proximity to each other.  Because of the size of our group, and because the pubs are not large spaces, we need everyone to sign up ahead of time and we will break you into four equal groups.  Each group will be given a starting pub, and every 45 minutes the groups will move to the next pub on their list. Click here to sign up for the Pub Crawl.

Registration is closed
Registration is $369 per person and includes 2 dinners, 3 lunches, all seminars, Looper Crawls, and social events.  The event is currently sold out.  Click here to add your name to our waiting list.
